Quick viewThe Trinity with Five Portraits 28.300 ₴
A candlestick that becomes part of the home. This triptych is richly decorated. Its five three-dimensional heads are particularly striking, each with its own unique character. This feature is common among authentic triptychs of an earlier date. A subtle detail: the tassels, which create a characteristic rustling sound when the candlestick is carried. The three heads serve as bases for the candle cups. The base is a slanted tetrahedron. The sculpture itself is solemn in its form, yet its scale makes it intimate and very practical for domestic use.
The candlestick presented here is a composite image. The motifs used in its creation belong to the private collections of Y. Lemik, B. Soroka, Y. Yurkevych and O. Lozinsky.

Quick viewThe Great Trinity with Cherubim 100.000 ₴
Wooden candlestick
This is a large red triptych depicting the Crucifixion and the Baptism of Christ, with cherubs, and rich in symbolic detail.
This authentic candlestick featuring this motif belongs to Oksana Patyk’s collection. This three-branched candlestick and other folk art objects from the family collection were discovered by Volodymyr Patyk during ethnographic expeditions. In hundreds of sketches and works, the artist depicted the most characteristic motifs found in these artefacts. The very depiction of the trinity and other ethnographic motifs was an act of protest against the Soviet system, which led to the almost complete destruction of authentic crafts. The artist demonstrated how, by drawing inspiration from his people’s material heritage, one can develop a whole universe of meanings and symbols. And it was this candlestick from a private collection that was entrusted to us for reproduction, so that it might once again be put to use and inspire.

Quick viewSingle wooden candlestick with a portrait 14.700 ₴
Dimensions: base 10 x 10 cm, height 25 cm
The candlestick is carved from lime wood, primed and coated with gesso, which gives the surface its characteristic texture. The warmth emanating from beneath is created by a red undercoat. A shellac primer adds strength to the layers. A distinctive feature of this sculpture is its almost complete coverage with transfer gold / potala. It is this that glimmers from beneath the paint as we delicately rub it in. For this candlestick, we explored the colour palette used in Ukrainian sacred and applied sculpture to convey the solemnity, joy and cosiness that reign in the family home.
