The Trypillian Madonna ‘Mother of Grain’

The sculpture ‘Mother of Grain’ embodies the ancient image of the goddess of fertility – the guardian of the harvest, abundance and the life-giving power of the earth. The ‘Mistresses of Fertility’ sculptures are inspired by the image of an ancient goddess who, in the cultures of agricultural peoples, was a symbol of abundance, prosperity and the birth of new life. In the Trypillian tradition, the feminine principle was revered as the source of creation, and the earth as the greatest value and the foundation of well-being.
