The sculpture ‘Guardian of the Fire’ embodies one of the most ancient symbols of human culture – the hearth fire as a source of life, warmth and the continuation of the family line. The ornamentation on the sculpture’s surface references ancient symbols of protection, prosperity and spiritual unity with nature. It is an image of a guardian who keeps alive the fire of the home, memory and tradition.

In Trypillian culture, the female figure symbolised the fertility of the earth, the continuation of the lineage, prosperity and harmony between humankind and nature.
The simple form and symbolic ornamentation reflect a connection with ancient traditions and beliefs about the feminine principle as a source of strength, wisdom and rebirth. ‘The Great Mother’ embodies care, protection and the eternal cycle of life.
